what I wish I had known before blowing lots of cash on coaching to help me scale
For years, I followed other people’s roadmaps.
I invested in the right coaches. Bought the high-ticket programs. Watched every lesson, completed the worksheets, did my best to execute the plan exactly as they taught it.
Because if they were successful, surely they had the answer… right?
Except those strategies never quite worked for me.
Not because I was lazy or unfocused or needed to “raise my vibes.”
But because those strategies were designed for someone completely different than me.
Someone extroverted, fast-paced, hard-driving, and deeply motivated by external success and performance.
And I’m not that person.
I never have been.
scaling without losing yourself
I’m a soft-spoken, intuitive, nature-loving introvert.
I value depth over speed, presence over pressure. I believe in leaving space. Listening to my body. Moving with intention. Creating meaning. Staying true to my values.
But when I was in hustle mode, none of that felt accessible.
I didn’t yet have the clarity—or the self-trust—to scale in a way that honored my full humanity. I still thought I had to become someone else to grow.
The truth is, I wish I had known that strategies only work when they match who you are.
The ones I was trying weren’t just a bad fit—they were actively draining me.
human design changed everything
When I discovered I was a 2/4 Splenic Projector, I finally understood why everything I’d been taught about scaling felt so… off.
- I’m not meant to initiate or push. I’m meant to guide—after being recognized and invited.
- I don’t create consistent energy from the Sacral center—I’m designed to rest often, work efficiently, and protect my energy.
- My splenic authority speaks through instinct and intuition, not logic or “justification.”
- I thrive in intimacy and influence, not in shouting into the void.
Learning this allowed me to forgive myself.
To see that I wasn’t failing—I was forcing a model that wasn’t meant for me.
That was the beginning of a major shift in business for me.
what I wish I had done instead
Looking back now, there’s so much wisdom I wish I could send back to past me.
So if you’re scaling your business and finding it’s harder, heavier, or less aligned than you expected—this is for you.
Here’s what I wish I had done sooner (and what I now help my clients do):
- Quiet the voices of the internet business gods. Pause the courses. Mute the hype. Let yourself detox from “proven frameworks” that don’t feel right.
- Reconnect with your own insight. Your body knows. Your spirit knows. Spend time in stillness. Go for walks. Meditate. Journal. Come back to you.
- Explore tools that deepen your self-understanding. Whether it’s Human Design, Enneagram, astrology, or something else—you need a language to name your inner truth. It’s hard to honor what you haven’t yet articulated.
- Design your business from your values, energy, and capacity. This might mean simplifying your offers. Working less. Changing your client load. Ditching marketing strategies that exhaust you. Building systems around what actually supports you. Have fun with it!
- Give yourself permission to do it differently. This is a long game. You’re not here for a flash-in-the-pan hustle business. You’re building something sustainable—and that means patience, trust, and reflection.
slow is sacred
You don’t have to blow $25K on a coach who doesn’t get you.
You don’t have to build a brand that looks good on the outside but feels hollow and ill-fitting on the inside.
You don’t have to trade your health, sanity, or soul for financial success.
You can do this differently.
Your business can feel calming, spacious, aligned.
But it starts by trusting yourself more than the algorithm.
More than the influencer.
More than the next 5-step funnel strategy.

Annual biz planning that actually works for sensitive entrepreneurs
There’s a quieter way to approach annual planning. One that doesn’t rely on adrenaline, urgency, or the rush of excitement that often comes at the end of the year.
