If you’ve been in the game for a while, doing “all the right things,” and still feel like your business isn’t expanding the way it should be… it might not be a strategy problem.
It might be a capacity one.
Capacity is your ability to hold:
- More clients.
- More visibility.
- More leadership.
- More money.
- More you.
And not just hold it for a moment, but sustain it.
Most business growth advice skips this part. It hands you another funnel, another strategy, another morning routine—as if that alone will build your next level. But for sensitive, intuitive entrepreneurs like us, strategy without capacity just leads to more spinning, more second-guessing, and more subtle shutdowns.
What is “Capacity” in Business?
To me, capacity isn’t about being stronger or tougher. It’s about building the energetic, emotional, and nervous system space to receive and respond to what you’re calling in. It’s how you grow without fragmenting yourself.
Capacity shows up in the way you move through your day:
- Do you have energy left after your calls to cook a nourishing dinner?
- Can you open your inbox without bracing?
- Are you showing up in your marketing as the most you version of yourself, or just the palatable one?
- Can you raise your rates and hold the expansion that brings without sabotaging it?
Capacity is also:
- Letting one “no” not unravel your week.
- Holding a full client load and your creative spark.
- Taking up more space online without feeling like you’re betraying yourself.
- Navigating visibility, success, and next-level responsibility without your system flaring into survival mode.
Your Nervous System is at the Center of It All
In the five years I’ve coached sensitive solopreneurs, and in nearly a decade of guiding others through yoga and healing, I’ve learned this: Your nervous system is the soil your business grows from.
If it’s overtaxed, undernourished, or holding old patterns of fear or fatigue, your business will reflect that—no matter how much mindset work you’ve done.
Some days, I wake up inspired and ready to share my work with the world. Other days, I feel slow, muddy, and quiet. That used to throw me. I’d feel behind, wrong, and like I couldn’t be trusted to lead. These days, I know it’s just my system asking for something. And I have tools—both mindset and somatic—that help me navigate those shifts without abandoning my goals or myself.
That’s the real power: not pushing through, but tuning in.
Why Mindset Isn’t Enough
I’m a trained mindset coach in one of the most effective tools around (the model). I deeply believe in the power of thought work. But I’ve also repeated affirmations as a last resort while my body quietly screamed, “This isn’t safe.”
If your nervous system doesn’t feel safe to receive what you’re asking for—more clients, more money, more exposure—it will shut it down. Not because you’re broken. Because your system is intelligent. It’s doing exactly what it was wired to do.
That’s why building capacity requires more than just changing your thoughts—it means inviting your body to come along for the ride.
And when it does, everything changes. You feel powerful, but not performative. Magnetic, but not manic. Grounded, even in growth.
This Isn’t About Being Regulated All the Time
Working with your nervous system doesn’t mean staying perfectly calm or balanced. It means building awareness. It means knowing how to read your internal signals so you can respond with compassion instead of reaction. It means tracking your capacity like a vital sign—adjusting your workflow, your self-talk, your energy investments accordingly.
This is self-leadership.
This is energetic sustainability.
This is the path of the deeply feeling, soul-led entrepreneur.

Annual biz planning that actually works for sensitive entrepreneurs
